We finally started work on our most recent job. We tore of the existing gutterboard and a couple of feet of roof deck. Suprisingly we found a 3/8" thick plywood surface sitting on top of 2x4 truss framing. Probably cutting edge at the time, now the deck must be at least 7/16" per code. Despite the undersized lumber, the roof shows no signs of sagging or other damage. We added new rafter tails so the house will now have an overhang on all sides. We were moving right along until being rained out on Friday. We'll be back this week tofinish up roof framing and begin foundation work.
